Prices and packages9

Can I see it before I pay?

Yes. Book a demo and we’ll walk you through the whole thing on a shop that is already selling — the sale, the stock, the reports. Once your shop is set up, your first invoice is due fourteen days later.

Can I sell when the internet is down?

Yes, on every package. Products are stored on the device, and sales wait in order and send themselves when the connection comes back. Nothing is lost.

What does each package include?

The table above comes straight from our package list, so it’s always up to date: how many branches, staff, devices and products each package allows, and which features are included.

Can I change package later?

Yes. Ask for a different package from the Subscription page in your back office and we’ll set it up with you. Your products, sales and customers stay exactly where they are.

What is Custom?

A package built for one business after its demo. The features, limits and price are agreed with you in a quotation. It suits chains, franchises and special setups.

How do I pay?

By KHQR from your Subscription page, or by bank transfer using the invoice number as the reference. Every invoice, and its receipt once paid, can be printed or saved as a PDF.

What happens if an invoice is late?

The till keeps selling for a short grace period, and the Subscription page shows when it ends. After that, the shop becomes read-only until the invoice is paid. Nothing you’ve recorded is lost.

Does the price include a printer?

No, the price covers the software only. Our hardware page lists the printers, scanners and cash drawers we know work.

What happens to my shop’s data if I stop paying?

It stays yours. After the grace period the shop becomes read-only: the till stops taking new sales, but every sale, product and customer is still there and the owner can still download everything from Settings › Data & audit. Pay the invoice and selling carries on where it stopped.

Seeing it first7

What does a demo cost?

Nothing. It’s a conversation, not a commitment.

Do I have to commit to anything?

No. After the demo we set up your shop on the package you choose, and your first invoice is due fourteen days later. You can stop whenever you like, and your shop’s data is yours to take with you.

Can you put my own products in?

Yes. Send us your list as a spreadsheet and we’ll load it for you. The back office checks every row and shows any problems before anything is saved.

What kinds of shop is BrownPOS for?

General stores and minimarts, cafés and coffee shops, and restaurants. We set the till up for your type of business: a restaurant opens on its tables, and a café asks about sugar and ice.

Does it work in Khmer?

Yes. The till and the back office work in Khmer and English, and receipts print in Khmer.

Can you help me set it up?

Yes. That’s what the call is for.

Which language is the demo in?

Khmer or English, whichever suits you. The till, the back office and the receipts all work in both, and you can switch language at any time afterwards.

When the internet goes8

What if the device is switched off before the sales are sent?

Nothing is lost. The queue is saved in the device’s storage, not just in memory, so it survives a shutdown, a flat battery or a closed browser. It picks up where it left off when the till opens again.

Can two cashiers sell offline at once?

Yes. Each till keeps its own numbered sequence, so two tills selling during the same outage can’t clash, and the server knows exactly what happened on each one.

How long can it stay offline?

Days, not hours. The real limit is the device’s storage, which is far more than a shop needs for any normal outage.

Do restaurant tables work offline?

Yes. Orders, rounds and table payments wait on the till like any other sale. If two tills take payment for the same table while both are offline, both sales are kept and the owner is told.

Do my reports include what was sold offline?

Yes, as soon as the sales reach the server. Each sale keeps the time it was made.

What happens if a sale is refused when it finally reaches the server?

It’s kept for review, not thrown away. The till shows “Needs a look” with what was refused and why. The most common reasons, stock and credit limits, are already checked on the device when the sale is made.

Can I take KHQR while the line is down?

Yes. The till makes the QR itself, and the money goes straight from your customer’s bank to yours through Bakong — we are not in the middle of that. What the till cannot do without a connection is confirm the payment for you, so your cashier checks the customer’s phone and taps “Payment received”. The sale waits on the till like any other, and when the line comes back it reaches your reports with the payment on it, checked against Bakong.

Does the receipt printer still work offline?

Yes. Printing happens between the device and the printer, over USB, Bluetooth or your own network, so receipts and kitchen tickets print through an outage exactly as they do the rest of the day.

Table bookings8

Can I take bookings on my own website?

Yes. Turn Reservations on in the back office, open Your booking page, and copy the line of embed code it shows you. Paste that line into your own website where you want the box to stand — it wears your colour and your name — and from then on a guest who books there lands straight in your diary and on the till, with no commission to anybody. If you have no website yet, the box also has an address of its own, something like brownpos.com/book/your-shop, with a printed QR code to match for the door, the table and your Facebook page.

Does it work on a phone?

That is where most of your guests will meet it, and it is built for a phone first. There is nothing for a guest to install, and the box wears your colour and your name rather than ours.

What happens if two guests book the same table at once?

They cannot. A guest is only ever offered times that are really free, on tables big enough for their party, and the table is held while they type their name. A time that goes while they are typing is offered to nobody else.

Can my front desk still take bookings by phone?

Yes, and they go in the same diary. A booking taken at the desk, over the telephone, from your website, your link or a printed QR is the same booking on the same table — there is only ever one diary.

Can I keep some tables for walk-ins?

Yes. Say how many tables to hold back and the box will never offer them, however busy the night looks online. You set it in Hours & tables, with the sitting length, how far ahead guests may book and the last booking of the night.

What do guests have to give us?

A name and a phone number always. The e-mail and the note are yours to choose: leave them out, ask for them, or insist on them. A shop that writes to its guests can refuse a booking without an address; the shop next door would rather have the booking.

Do you take a commission on bookings?

No. It is your website, your guest and your table. BrownPOS takes nothing per booking.

Is it on every plan?

No. Reservations is not part of every package — it is switched on for the shops that ask for it. Our packages and what each one costs are on the Pricing page, and our team will tell you what your room needs and set it up with you.

Printers and devices10

Do I need a fast connection?

No. BrownPOS works with no internet at all and sends everything once it’s back.

Will a phone work?

Yes, but a small screen makes selling slower. A tablet or laptop is easier.

Which receipt printers work?

Thermal printers using 58 mm or 80 mm paper, such as Xprinter, Epson TM-T82 and TM-T88, Rongta and Gprinter. Choose yours in the till’s Settings and the paper and print width are set for you. For other models, a quick width test finds the right setting.

How does the printer connect?

By USB or Bluetooth to a computer running Chrome or Edge, or over your shop’s network using the BrownPOS print bridge.

Will my barcode scanner work?

Almost certainly. Any USB or Bluetooth scanner that types what it reads will work, and you can test it in the till’s Settings.

Can the cash drawer open by itself?

Yes. A drawer connected to the receipt printer opens on every cash sale, and there’s a button to open it by hand.

Can the kitchen have its own printer?

Yes. Each station, such as the kitchen or the bar, can print its own tickets on its own printer.

Do I have to buy hardware from you?

No, you can buy it anywhere. Tell us the model and we’ll tell you if it works.

Do I need a special till machine?

No. BrownPOS runs in the browser on a computer, a tablet or a phone you already have. For a USB or Bluetooth printer, use Chrome or Edge on a computer; over the shop’s network any device can print through the BrownPOS print bridge.

Can one shop have several tills?

Yes. Each device pairs to its own register with a code from the back office, and they share the same products and customers. Your package sets how many devices you may pair, and a till that is replaced carries on its register’s receipt numbers.

Help and support13

The internet went down. Did I lose the sales?

No. They’re saved on the device and send themselves when the connection comes back. The till’s Settings show how many are still waiting.

I forgot my PIN

The owner or a manager sets a new one in the back office: Staff, then Reset PIN on that person’s row. Type a new PIN of four to six digits and they can sign in at the till straight away. Nobody can read an old PIN, not even us.

I forgot my back office password

Tap Forgot password? on the sign-in screen. A six-digit code goes to your e-mail, good for ten minutes — type it in and choose a new one.

The printer will not print

On the till, open Settings › Receipts, choose your printer and press Test print (Khmer). If the right side of the receipt is cut off, press Width test: it prints three boxes, and you keep the widest that comes out with both sides. Still not working? Send us the printer model.

The till says “Needs a look”

The server didn’t accept something the till sent, usually because of stock or a credit limit. Nothing is lost: open it to see what was refused and why, and a manager can sort it out.

How do I give a new staff member access?

In the back office open Staff and press Add staff, or Invite by e-mail if they will use the back office too. Start their role from a position such as Cashier, Waiter, Kitchen or Stock keeper; every permission can be changed and each one is written in plain words.

Where are my invoices?

On the Subscription page in your back office: one row per month, with each invoice and receipt ready to print or save as a PDF.

Can I get my data out?

Yes, whenever you like. Every report has Export CSV and Print / PDF, and in the back office Settings › Data & audit the owner can press Download everything (JSON), or take the products and customers as CSV. It is your shop’s data; nothing is deleted if a subscription lapses.

What should I send you when something breaks?

On the till, open Settings › About and press Copy report. It tells us the version, the device and the sync status, and carries no passwords. If you can, send the support code shown there too.

Can I use more than one till in the same shop?

Yes. Each device is paired to its own register and they all share the same products, prices and customers. Every sale keeps the number of the till that made it, and the day summary can be read per till or for the whole shop. How many devices you may pair is set by your package.

How does a customer buy on account?

Put the customer on the sale first, then choose On account when you take payment. The back office keeps their balance, their credit limit and every charge; when they pay, use Take repayment on their row. A sale over their limit asks for a manager.

Can I split a bill, or join two tables?

Yes, on the till’s Tables screen. Right-click a table (or hold a finger on it) for its quick menu: Split bill pays part of it as its own sale, Merge into brings two tables’ orders together, and Move to a free table moves the party. Dragging one table onto another does the same.

Who can see the reports and the money?

Whoever the role says. Reports, costs and margins each have their own permission, so a cashier can sell without seeing what the shop earns, while an owner or a manager sees everything. The Staff page shows each role in plain words before you save it.

Still have a question?

Write to us or call. A real person answers, in Khmer or English.
