Terms of use
An agreement you cannot read is not an agreement. This one is in plain English, and if a line of it is unclear, ask us — we would rather change the words than have you guess at them.
Three things, before the detail
You pay by the month
You pay for BrownPOS each month and we keep it running for your shop. What a plan costs and what it includes is on the pricing page, and that page is the price you pay.
The shop is yours to run
Your sales, your products, your customers, your staff and your reports belong to your shop. We hold them so the till can work. We do not sell them and we do not hand them to anyone else.
You can stop
Stop whenever you decide to. Nothing is deleted the moment you go, and every table of your shop’s data can be taken out — as one file, or as spreadsheets, one table at a time.
What we ask of you
A till is held by whoever is standing at it, which is why every person gets their own login and their own PIN, and why the shop decides what each of them is allowed to do.
Anything done under a login is treated as done by that person. Keep passwords and PINs with the people they belong to, and turn a login off the day someone leaves — the back office does it in one tap. If you think an account has been taken, tell us quickly and we will help you close it.
And the obvious one: BrownPOS is for running a lawful business in Cambodia.
- Every person has their own login and PIN
- A login is turned off the day someone leaves
- Tell us quickly if an account has been taken
- BrownPOS is used for a lawful business
Months, prices and leaving
BrownPOS is paid monthly. The pricing page says what each plan costs and what is in it, and that is the page that counts — not a number someone remembers from a conversation.
If you decide to stop, your shop is not wiped the moment you tell us. Ask for your data and you get all of it: the back office can write out every table of your shop, either as one export or as a spreadsheet per table.
- Monthly, not a year you are locked into
- The pricing page is the price
- Nothing is deleted the moment you stop
- Your shop’s data leaves with you
What we do not promise
BrownPOS keeps selling when the internet does not — that is the whole point of it, and it is the part we test hardest. But no software is perfect and no server is up every second of the year. We will not promise you that nothing will ever go wrong. We promise that when it does, a real person in Siem Reap answers, and that a sale made while the line was down is not a sale you lose.
BrownPOS is a tool for running a shop. What you sell, at what price, what you declare and what you agree with your staff and your customers are your decisions, not ours. Nothing in the app or on this website is legal, tax or accounting advice.
Nothing written here takes away a right you have under Cambodian law.
Who owns what is in my till?
Your shop does. The sales, the products, the customers, the staff and the reports are yours. We hold them so that the app can work, and we give them back whenever you ask.
Can I stop whenever I want?
Yes. BrownPOS is paid by the month. Tell us you are stopping, take your data out, and that is the end of it.
What happens when the internet goes down?
The till keeps selling. It keeps what happened on the device and sends it up when the line comes back — that is the promise the whole product is built around.
Is this the final wording?
It is the honest wording, not the final one. A Cambodian lawyer reads these pages before BrownPOS is sold widely, and if the law needs different words we will use them and say what changed.
Anything here you would like explained?
Ask before you sign up, not after. We would rather spend ten minutes on the phone than have you agree to something you are not sure about.
